Questions and Answers

Is Rocolex free?

Yes. Playing is free for everyone. The site shows some adverts and has a tip link, which help pay for the servers. People who run a school, class or club can subscribe to get their own group, but everyone who plays in a group plays for free.

Who is it for?

Anyone who likes number puzzles and strategy. It began as a game a child brought home from school, and it suits school-age players through to adults. Subscribers who run groups must be 18 or over.

Do I need an account?

To play you need to sign in, with an email address and password or with a Google account. It only takes a minute, and it lets us keep your games, your rating and your place on the leaderboard.

How do I play?

See How to Play for the rules and the strategy guide for tips.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes. You can play against a built-in bot to practise at your own pace, or against another person.

What is the ranking?

Games between players change a rating, a number that goes up when you win and down when you lose. The Ranks page lists the players by rating.

Is there an app?

There is an Android app that runs Rocolex full screen on your phone. See the app page. Rocolex also works in any modern web browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

Can I build my own bot?

Yes. Rocolex has an API so that a program you write can play real games. See Build a Bot.

How do I set up a league for my class or club?

See Run your own league. A group has its own leaderboard and invite codes, so your players can join without any lists or accounts for you to create.

What happens to my information?

We keep only what the site needs to run, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing. The details are on our privacy page. You can delete your account from your account settings.

I found a problem, or I have an idea.

Please tell us on the contact page. Rocolex is still in beta, and feedback shapes what we build next.
